After months of isolation, Isherwood “Ish” Williams learns that most of the world is affected by a mysterious disease. However, despite his instincts for further isolation, Ish leads the charge to create a new civilization.
The first episode was better than the preview
It will be interesting to see where they go with this apocalyptic near end of humanity. It’s a quiet and lonely show, since (almost!) everyone except the main character has died from the pandemic, but it uses that silence to ask worthy existential questions about loneliness, whether you should strive to live when all your loved ones are dead, .
hope, and so on
how to move forward. There is a famous book with this title/theme, and we will see how this series complements and parallels this novel.
The first episode is good enough to watch it again
It has a feeling of desolation and despair, like in “The Walking Dead”, but without zombies, and instead – a personal struggle for life in a world that has changed a lot. “One Hundred Years of Loneliness” is one of the loudest premieres on TV and streaming this month.
